ABOUT US:

hibisKHus -by June was born as an artistic outlet from our busy routine. By the end of October 2019, June hit a plateau from a demanding career, leading to stress and severe skin allergies. To curtail allergic reactions without medication, some changes in career and life had to happen. Part of this wellness change involved nixing beauty and skincare products that directly contribute to skin irritation. A vacation spent learning how to make cold process soaps, and other cosmetics in small batches has created impactful changes. We look forward to a day of creativity and formulation. We have spent the following year testing and formulating to bring products that are safe, effective and enjoyable to use. All of our products are hand-made in small batches by us. We strive to create a space where sustainable practices and local sourcing is vital.

We are happy to support local businesses and use local ingredients whenever possible. For example, if we use honey, it is from the local apiary. If we use maple syrup, it is produced at a local farm. We also use Ontario-based or Canada-based companies as often as possible for purchases of supplies, fragrances, and colours.

ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS:

All of our products are handcrafted from carefully selected ingredients that are skin-friendly and highly conditioning. Our artisan soaps take about 4-6 weeks to cure and 6-12 months for our spa bars. Other listings such as body butter, steamers, and scrubs are done in small batches each week. Our colours and scents come from different inspirations designed to make you feel unique or fancy because you deserve FANCY. YOU ARE SPECIAL!

We do not make any health-related claims about our bath and body products. We do not claim that the use of our products may have a positive effect on pre-existing physical and/or mental health conditions. The information on our listings pertains to the properties of specific ingredients used in the product.

Our current line is our favourite of all the testing we've done. Will you like it too? We think so, but there is a different experience for different people. While we aren't entirely vegan, we offer soap bars that do not contain animal fats (indicated with (v)). We hope to continuously grow the line as we also expand our knowledge in handcrafted products.
