Calamine Bastille Soap (v)
This Bastille soap gets a makeover in our shop. Who says traditional soap has to look boring? This is how we want to celebrate this centuries old soap made in a modern cold process method. This contains 70% olive oil and also a dual lye soap to cut the sliminess that the Castile one has. We love the gentle lotion-like lather we get from this soap! Calamine powder and rose clay were included for added slip.
Calamine Powder is said to have antiseptic properties and said to soothe minor skin irritations.
Did you know this takes 6-12 months to cure? Yes, and the longer it cures, the more luxurious it becomes. Grab yourself a bar or two, I promise you, you won't be disappointed!
Crafted to be luxury soaps, many are made with milk, clays, silk, and butters or oils that may yield softer , gentler and more nourishing soaps. In order to extend the life of your soap, let it drain and dry fully in between uses.
